A Bit About Us

Jack's Gully farm is located within an hour of the Melbourne CBD, and a short drive from the delightful township of Woodend in the renown Macedon Ranges. With temperate summers and chilly winters, locals and visitors alike are attracted to the rural community atmosphere, and enjoy the regional harvest that abounds through cosy local eateries and gourmet produce.

Sprawling over large acreage encompassing bushland, open paddocks, pedigree infrastructure, alongside local primary producers and support industries, Jack's Gully is a delight for breeding, growing, and producing beef and other organic products.

Jack's Gully is proudly using organic practices.

Certification for organic operation was obtained as part of establishing our farm, production practices, and product development to our valued consumers (OGA Certified - Australian Certified Organics Certificate of Compliance 1429A).  Jack's Gully has since moved away from formal certification and as a producer, we support and look forward to ongoing certification value and maturity of practice. We are currently farming organically grown beef, lamb, and eggs. Following the trend of high demand in Europe, organic food is continues to grow in recognition, popularity and preference in Australia as a valued choice, and one that Jack's Gully Organics is excited to provide locally.

A Bit About Our Organic Beef

Jack's Gully Organics use Lowline cattle, a breeding stock originating in NSW directly from Angus breeds from Scotland, Canada, and America.  The Lowline breed is 30% smaller in size than a typical Angus, with many outstanding features including easy birthing, early maturity, great herd mothers, and not least, have a lovely nature, important for gentle and easy herding.  The grass-fed meat is well-marbled, with smaller, tender cuts to suit modern palates, and with efficient grazing-to-protein growth and high meat yield ratios, Lowlines are a more sustainable leading-edge, boutique breed in today's beef farming industry.
